Healthy Eating – The Benefits Of Flax Seeds
No Comments
Flax seeds have gained popularity amongst the health conscious over the past few years. This is due to the fact that over 50% of the fat in flax seeds is Omega 3 fatty acid. This makes it very popular among vegetarians as they can gain their source of Omega 3 in their diet through the consumption of flax seeds. They are also called linseed. Other flax seed benefits include the fact that flax seeds have been shown to prevent or reduce the symptoms of arthritis, colitis, cancer, heart disease and even acne. Flax seed oil helps in treating skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis, similar to fish oil. It is also known as an estrogen balancer and regular usage can help reduce the symptoms that arise during menopause. Flax seeds are also a great source of fiber.
